As long as you don't have trouble Adam is fine.
But once you have a technical problem, better look for another ISP right away!
Our VoIP stopped working, I called them to registe this as a problem. They promised to call back. However, they didn't. So I went with my hard hardware stuff into their office. Their proposal: Let the stuff here, my be on Monday someone can have a look at it. Well this was on a Friday and I was not going to spend a couple of days without internet and phone connection. Later on they called on a mobile number which had been updated in our contact details on adamts website long time ago. So I called them again and sent several emails. They repied to the email, however what they suggested showed that they had not even read what I wrote to them. Eventually they wrote: "bring your VoIP adapter to our office; we test it and replace it when it's defect."
So I went to their place yesterday. The test took 60 seconds. They said the adaptor is gone. But instead replacing it with a new one as promised they wanted me to purchase a new VoIP capable router along with a new 18 month contract.
All this above is just a very version of a long story. I cannot believe how bad their support and how arrgant these guys are. They are rubbish. I will change my ISP asap!

By the way and just to continue with complaints. This website doesn't work very well. Adam is shown on the summary page with 5 stars. But only one out of six reviews gave them 5 starts. How come???

Following up from my post above dated 18-8-2007.

AdamTalk is now live.

I was involved in the trial leading up to Adamtalk going live and voice quality was excellent.

I will be changing over from Mynetfone at the end of this billing period.

I highly recommend the Adam VOIP product based on the trial and 2 fellow Adamtalk (current) users at work.

They also have great quality in their calls.

I have asked Adam a couple of times 'when is the release date,' the response has been 'soon' on both occasions.

It's a little frustrating, I was hoping to have my voip with my ISP for simplicity.

It's a it odd that a mate who signed up to ADSL2 with Adam recently was given VOIP with his signup, I dont know what the go there is. Theres nothing on the Adam website about a pending release.

Looks like i'll take my business elsewhere, unfortunately. :(

Adam have had internal VoIP for several years, allowing ISP customers to talk to each other but no outside calls (adamtalk). External SIP calls have apparently been alpha tested for some time (by selected customers). I believe a wider release is planned relatively soon, but as yet Adam have no true VoIP product available to the public. Most recent info http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=607887&p=16#r301

Unless ozvoipstatus develops the ability to identify early data as only being applicable to closed alpha testers, I see little point collecting the data.

Adam do not currently offer a voip service. There is no reason that this hostname should be monitored, it would purely as a testing/internal use system.

Editor's note: Market Clarity's list shows Adam offering an Internet Based VoIP service for Residential users. That suggests to me that they were / are running a VoIP service. Nothing has come back from Adam to say otherwise either. I will acknowledge there is no obvious offering of VoIP on their website, which leads to question, did Market Clarity call and ask? Did Market Clarity just "guess"?
My final 2c on it without official contact from Adam Internet is this is a SIP server that is on the public internet attached to their business domain. It very well could be in testing (and judging by the downtime logged, it would want to be, but in the absense of a request from them for removal, and in light of Market Clarity's research revealing them as a Residential Grade VoIP provider, and the address sip.adam.com.au pointing to this server, we are left to fill in the blanks until something authoritive comes in reply to our communication).
